How I started?

I have always wanted to create hand made greeting cards. I've tried drawing them, painting them etc and never felt quite satisfied. One day when I was cruising thru the aisles of hobby lobby I saw these colorful quilling papers at and a book by
Claire Sun-ok Choi and I fell in love with this craft and it turned out to be the perfect medium for me to use my creativity.
I learnt this by myself, of course made plenty of mistakes and learnt something new each time. I never given myself permission to make mistakes and hence have not tried many things but with quilling I was and am not afraid of being imperfect!
So wanted to share my journey with all of you.

The Art of Quilling

Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and the coil shaped, these shaped coils are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns similar to ironwork.
